In a narrow community of spirit, through zones of shade and light, two men communicate. The idea of this exhibition was born out of the desire to carry out a tangible interaction between model and photographer and to highlight several dichotomies of existence. Both an emotive and an esthetic choice, working with a single model has enabled me to try out new avenues, to build, in a much more personal way, a study already undertaken on the male body. Through intimacy and confidence, I tried to capture various sensitive demonstrations of the soul, all elements that give life to forms and movements.

The model, at times object, generally used to transmit a symbolic, at other times subject, in the sense that his significance emanates from his action or his attitude, sometimes at once object and subject, is both the anchor point and the factor of unity for the multiple dualities which characterize these photographs. Nudity being natural and primordial and denoting surrender and vulnerability, sensuality and sexuality, I deliberately decided to use this symbol which I consider fundamental. Then, whether the setting is interior or exterior, wood or sand, whether the man is oppressed or freed, wrapped or revealed, the body, stripped of its cultural artifices, challenges the senses by the articulation of an analogical language.

The universe of contrasts which I wish to represent is also emphasized by the fact that the photographs are in black and white with, however, the addition of sepia to aim at making yet more salient certain dichotomies. Although the body of my work is based on a thought structured so as to illustrate a feeling or an emotion, which in my opinion connects with the "body" element or, in other words, could come under the definition of Art, several images are also the result of an impulse, which tends to confer to the "soul" element the character of Life.
