50 Years of Cruises
History of the Boats
In 1956, Andre Pignarre, Director of the Eiffel Tower restaurants, was impressed by river tourism in Amsterdam and decided to found a sightseeing boat company, using small launches.
In 1987, the Bateaux Parisiens company was bought by the Sodexho Group, the world catering leader, that also has other river tourism subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and the United States.
Bateaux Parisiens grew further, reaching its present leading position, carrying more than two million passengers every year.
The Bateaux Parisiens company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007
Sailing from the Eiffel Tower
Departure from the Eiffel Tower, welcomed by the crew for a one-hour cruise on one of the trimarans of our fleet. The boats are entirely glassed over with a terrace at the stern and outside walkways and are perfectly designed for exploring and admiring the architectural treasures of the capital.
A clear, lively commentary enriched with words and music evoking the places and periods visited is broadcast on individual handset sin 13 languages.
