The town of Cahors - a jumble of chaotic old houses piled into
a loop on the Lot river - is not only the capital of the Lot département
but also the natural market for local produce: strong red wines
(le 'vin noir' de Cahors), truffles, walnuts, geese and duck,
foie gras ...
Our programme is based on a masterclass with chef Gilles Marre who runs the renowned restaurant, 'le Balandre'. Guy has accepted to spend a whole day with our customers revealing the secrets of his french cuisine.

As the course is located in the hotel which Gilles' family has run for three generations, participants will have ample opportunity to chat informally with him and his team - even to the extent of accompanying him to the early-morning market in Cahors. The programme includes other gourmet and oenological delights: a visit to a goose and duck breeder, two vineyards and a sumptuous gourmet dinner at 'le Balandre'.
