Discover a completely renovated Grevin. Experience the Spirit of Paris of yesterday and of today with astounding scenes : the major events of the 20th Century, French history and. the latest news. The brasserie, the theatre, artists' studios. all the legendary Parisian haunts where you will rub shoulders with the "Tout Paris" celebrities. Three hundred wax figures are waiting to meet you, to be photographed with you, to be remembered forever. The new Hall of Mirrors (Palais des Mirages) ! Don't expect to believe your eyes and ears !
The Grevin's discovery tour reveals the well-kept secrets of making wax celebrities! After meeting Lorie, Mimie Mathy, Louis XIV or Jean de La Fontaine, all our inquisitive little friends can have fun finding out how all those wax works are made.
For once, children are allowed to touch and to identify materials: wax, resins, eyes, hair, and to recognize the aroma of hot wax or oil paints. Did you know that the figures' hair is natural and that each hair is implanted onto the head separately, and that more than 500 000 are needed for a head; that David Douillet's foot is 30 cms long and 13 cms wide; that there are dozens of eye models, etc
Costumed as knights or princesses, the children meet the famous heroes of today's scene or yesterday's History of France, accompanied by an actor. Unforgettable encounters with Zinedine Zidane or Louis XIV, Jean de la Fontaine or Leonardo da Vinci, not to mention Jean Reno or Louis Bleriot, ending with the discovery tour and learning how a wax figure is made.
This new circuit is included in the unguided tour of the Grevin, available to children for visits with their family, and to school parties (primary and secondary school). Don't tell!!! Grown-ups also get a lot of fun out of finding out all the Grevin's trade secrets
On the strength of past experience and its great popular success since it opened in 1992, the Cite des enfants has been remodeled and expanded!
The new permanent exhibition, now open to children ages 2 to 7, affords a special place to adults too. For the greater enjoyment of our children visitors, this unique space for active experimentation and exploration proposes a series of fun and educational activities divided into five thematic areas: I discover myself, I can do, I locate myself, All together, I experiment.
The Cite des enfants 2-7 is divided into five thematic areas: I discover myself, I can do, I locate myself, I experiment, All together. The first three themes focus on the child's development, on learning about one's body, on motor skills, and on spatial cognition. The last two open the child to the world and to others. The new Cite des Enfants has kept the activities that have been the source of the Cite des Enfants reputation: in particular, the Ball Machine and the Work Site.

Your River Seine cruise begins near the Musee d'Orsay and sweeps you past a parade of monuments: the Louvre Museum, the Institute of France, the spires of Notre Dame Cathedral and tiny Ile Saint Louis, before arriving at the entrance of the Canal Saint Martin.
The first section of the canal takes you through an eerily lit tunnel which passes under the Place de la Bastille. Emerging from the tunnel you will discover the most romantic "boulevard" in Paris lined with hundred year old trees and spanned by elegant footbridges – the Canal Saint Martin's three miles of pure poetry. Reflected in the canal’s waters you’ll see old swing bridges, half-moon footbridges and the abundant foliage of horse-chestnut trees.
This cruise, which will take you through four double locks with swirling waters and two swing bridges, will allow you to experience the "atmosphere" of the Hotel du Nord created by Marcel Carne, Arletty and Louis Jouvet and share the pleasure of the walkers strolling along the banks lined with pretty boutiques and charming retro style cafes.
You will pass the raised Crimee Bridge before arriving at the Parc de la Villette (City of Sciences, The Geode, City of Music and themed gardens) you will cross the Bassin de la Villette, formerly a trading port now redeveloped to form the setting for the Rotonde de la Villette, and pass below the amazing Crimee drawbridge.
A trip along the Canal Saint Martin reveals a side of Paris that tourists don't usually get to see. The canal winds its way through a series of 19th-century locks and enchanting old areas of Paris until, 26 meters above the Seine, the canal reaches the Villette Basin.
The morning tour begins near Musee d'Orsay and ends at Parc de la Villette. In the afternoon the schedule is reversed, beginning at Parc de la Villette and ending near Musee d'Orsay.
We did fit in a barge ride on the Canal St. Martin, which was a huge hit. The barge proceeds from the Musee d'Orsay at an extremely stately pace, arriving at Parc de la Villette three hours later. (Bring food: The boat offers incredible views but no nourishment.) Some of the trip is through mysterious, lichen-encrusted tunnels, and several stops are made to wait for the locks to achingly, slowly fill with water. When the gates open and the waters rushes in and sprays everywhere, all the kids (and a few of the adults) on board get extremely excited. - Washington Post
