"Chantilly hosts the Prix Arc du Triomphe"Prix Arc du Triomphe
In 2016, for the first time ever, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe event was held on Chantilly’s legendary racecourse. From the stands, racegoers could admire the backdrop of the stunning Grandes Écuries and the Princes de Condé’s château as the horses thundered around the course. Chantilly will host the Arc for a second time in 2017.
The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is the climax of the flat racing season and the most eagerly-anticipated race of the year! After winning the most prestigious races in their respective countries, the world’s top gallopers do battle in the season’s most hotly-contested event. This legendary event keeps television viewers from all over the globe in suspense until the last second, when the winner is crowned world number one!
Scott Burton of racingpost.com says: The array of bets available on the Paris Mutuel Urbain (PMU) can seem bewildering, but a trip to Chantilly restricted to the kinds of wagers you’d strike at home is a missed part of the French racing experience. In betting terms the Quinte is the Holy Grail, requiring the player to name the first five home in the nominated race of the day, while there are plenty of forecast (couple) bets available. As the name suggests, you need to get two in the first four, and as with the forecast bets you can specify either ‘en ordre’ or ‘desordre’.Scott Burton
